چکیده
The aim of this study was to analyze the effect different supplementation conditions on fatigue and performance in flywheel half-squat tests senior men. Sixteen active males (age: 22.8±4.9 years; body mass index: 23.7±2.4 kgm-2) participated intervention during a 4-week period. Four experimental were established using double-blind design: placebo, caffeine (CAF), beetroot juice (BRJ), combined BRJ+CAF. To assess supplementation, participants completed countermovement jump (CMJ) before (Pre), 30 s after (Post-30s) 180 (Post-180 s) completing exercise protocol (four sets eight all-out repetitions, with 3-min inter-set rest, inertial loads). Additionally, mean power output recorded. Repeated measured ANOVA showed greater (~1000 W, p<.001) produced/OR/generated CAF, BRJ BRJ+CAF consumption compared placebo condition. After CAF BRJ, CMJ at Post-180 reduced Pre (p=.003-.087, two-way ANOVA; ES=-0.39/-0.49), although no significant reduction (p=.087) noted In conclusion, allow total test, without effects exercise-related fatigue. improved recovery high demanding power-production protocol.

Single and combined effects of beetroot juice and caffeine supplementation on cycling time trial performance.
Both caffeine and beetroot juice have ergogenic effects on endurance cycling performance. We investigated whether there is an additive effect of these supplements on the performance of a cycling time trial (TT) simulating the 2012 London Olympic Games course. Twelve male and 12 female competitive cyclists each completed 4 experimental trials in a double-blind Latin square design. Trials were un...
متن کاملBeetroot juice and exercise: pharmacodynamic and dose-response relationships.
Dietary supplementation with beetroot juice (BR), containing approximately 5-8 mmol inorganic nitrate (NO3(-)), increases plasma nitrite concentration ([NO2(-)]), reduces blood pressure, and may positively influence the physiological responses to exercise. However, the dose-response relationship between the volume of BR ingested and the physiological effects invoked has not been investigated. I...
متن کاملThe effects of dietary nitrate (beetroot juice) supplementation on exercise performance: A review
Nitric oxide (NO) is a potent vasodilator that increases blood flow and induces various intracellular actions such as increased mitochondrial and contractile efficiency. NO bioavailability may be increased by direct consumption of dietary nitrate and its sequential reduction to nitrite, a regulator of NO-induced hypoxic signaling. Dietary nitrate consumption reduces blood pressure, protects fro...
متن کاملEffects of beetroot juice supplementation on intermittent high-intensity exercise efforts
Beetroot juice contains high levels of inorganic nitrate (NO3-) and its intake has proved effective at increasing blood nitric oxide (NO) concentrations. Given the effects of NO in promoting vasodilation and blood flow with beneficial impacts on muscle contraction, several studies have detected an ergogenic effect of beetroot juice supplementation on exercise efforts with high oxidative energy ...
متن کاملEffects of caffeine consumption before resistance exercise on blood levels of testosterone and growth hormones in male athletes
Introduction: Caffeine has the athletic performance-enhancing effects, but its effect on concentrations of anabolic hormones is unclear. Therefore, this research examines the short–term effect of caffeine consumption on anabolic hormones of growth (GH) and testosterone (TS) after performing resistance exercise (RE). Materials and Methods: In this randomized double-blind, and placebo-controlled ...
